| | | The wood exteriors of the bed and cases have a very "Primitive" finish. This means the wood is heavily distressed and that the edges of the drawer's feature very worn detailing. There are knots, distressed marks and cracks in the wood. The cracks that appear in this group, may go all the way through the wood, this should not be considered damage. The knots that appear may also go all the way through. The defects are left in the wood deliberately; please remember that this is done to give these pieces "natural beauty". This is inherently part of the look of the group. Drawers have a French dovetail front and rear. This is not an interlocking joint (as is done by an English dovetail). It may be referred to as a butt joint. The back of the drawer is cut into and the drawer side fitted and glued into that cut, the same process is done on the back part of the drawer and then stapled in the sides. The bottom is glued and wood blocked on the underside of the drawer for strength and support.
